Resident’s Meetings

To make sure that everyone living at The Old Vicarage gets an opportunity to contribute to our planning and organisation, we hold regular resident’s meetings. The range of topics covered is quite broad and includes where to go on outings, who to invite to give performances and what people would like to see added to the meal menus

What People Say

“I ‘m always really impressed by the values and attitudes demonstrated by staff at The Old Vicarage. They are kind and compassionate and always go the extra mile to make sure that the people they care for have the best possible quality of life.”

Lesley Gill – Director, Dignity in Dementia

Our Latest CQC Report

At A Glance Information

Outcome 1: People should be treated with respect, involved in discussions about their care and treatment and able to influence how the service is run.

CQC comment: “We saw that the care staff were patient and unhurried while supporting people. Where they needed more time to communicate their wishes we saw that the staff took the time to communicate with them and understood how important it was to give people the time and opportunity to express their wishes about their lives in the home.”

Outcome 4: People should get safe and appropriate care that meets their needs and supports their rights.

CQC comment: “People told us the staff in the home were knowledgeable about the support they needed and how they wanted this to be provided. They said the staff ensured they were well cared for and contacted their doctor if they were unwell.”

Outcome 14: Staff should be properly trained and supervised, and have the chance to develop and improve their skills.

CQC comment: “Some of the people who lived in this home had dementia and could not easily express their views or wishes about their care. We observed people in communal areas to assess how they were supported by staff. We saw that people were provided with support in a manner which focused on them as individuals and promoted their independence and rights. The care staff we spoke with demonstrated they had a good understanding of how to support people who had dementia.”
